01 / The espresso brief

The shot came first.
The form followed.

The first conversation with Denis at KafaTek was about the shot: an exclusive espresso burr set, developed around the flavours Daniel Michaeli looks for. This M98V commission is where that specification will make its debut.

With Daniel at Specht, the conversation moved to its presence on the counter: British Racing Green, inspired by the Holland & Holland Range Rover, warm gold and scrollwork following the grinder’s form.

The intention is simple: as the light moves, so does its character. The grinder should feel alive every time you look at it.

03 / Colour, gold and form

The finish
keeps moving.

Gold follows the engraved lines. Colour recedes into shadow.
Brushed metal gives the eye a pause, so the form is never lost beneath the finish.
